ALRIGHT PEEPS, WHAT ARE THE VISUAL CHARACTER TRAITS TO LOOK FOR WHEN TRYING TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A JUNGLE BOA.
WHAT ABOUT A POSSIBLE JUNGLE BOA?
I HAVE A POSSIBLE JUNGLE THAT I GOT FROM PETER KAHL, BUT HOW CAN I TELL FOR SURE BESIDES BY BREEDING IT NEXT SEASON.

THANKS,
FRANK

These are not absolute but the more of these present the better. These are only true of animals from the original Swedish Jungle bloodlines. A Boa with these traits that is not from that bloodline, is not a Jungle. Unfortunately because of these various traits, sometimes the determination of a Jungle Boa can be subjective. The presence of only one of these traits sometimes is enough. Sometimes not. I don't like it either but that's the way it is. Here are the traits as I know them:

1. Aberrant Pattern
2. Absence of some of the "saddle points". Saddle points are those little often triangular shapes that seem to extend from the top of the Boa over the sides.
3. Pale Pattern elements. Those circles of lightness found within the saddle itself that sometimes give the saddles kind of a "lacy" appearance.
4. Contrasting of lightness and darkness between the saddles and ground color. The edges of the saddles are tipped with darker scales setting them off more so from the ground color immediately adjacent to those saddles.
5. Popping color. Jungles often have a beautiful yellow cast to them giving them a more shocking appearance as far as color is concerned.
