Feeding Question????

When I got my hogg I was told that she had been fed frozen/thawd rats but when tried them she turned her nose up at them. The person I got her from had own her for about a year. I tried for 2 weeks to get her to eat them. So I got a live one she snapped it right up she won't even eat prekilled unless you hold it with tongs and jiggle it. I accidently killed one when I stunned it. Does anyone know why this might be the case?

It may simply be the way she is attracted to the f/t item, the smell and movement. I've had alot of boas and it seems that you will always have to feed a particular snake a certain way. Sometime you may have one that will take the food just from laying on the floor of the cage, and others you have to jiggle it some. Tongs are definately a good idea when dangling food items.
