My female albino had her litter on Saturday. This is her first time mating and having young. As a matter of fact, this is my first boa to have babies. My delima is this, she had eight neonates, one born without a tail, the rest are healthy. Her total count was eight neonates and no sluggs. Is this normal for a first time boa to have so few neonates and no sluggs? By the way, the male is also albino. I was woundering if both parents being albino have anything to do with such a low count. Any input would be highly appreciated. Thanks

First, congrats on a litter. Small litters are not uncommon for first time breeders. Also if the female is smaller in size it could result in smaller litters.

Congratulations!
Randy is correct, sometimes first litters can be smaller. I would not worry too much. At least you have some boa babies to play with!
I bet next time you breed your female she'll have a larger litter.

O.K. everyone, sorry for the delay. I figured out what happened. On Saturday morning when I looked in her cage I saw six babies. I made the mistake of disturbing her by removing the young and cleaning out her cage. A few hours later she had two more and I also removed them and once again I disturbed her. On Sunday at about 5 pm, while I was at work my lady informed me over the phone that she had a whole bunch more. When I got home I discovered fourteen more. What happened is that she was trying to have her young and I did not let her do what she had to do. As I mentioned in my first post, this is my first experience having neonates. I will know better for next year. I have pics of them and I can't figure out how to post them. In the mean time, e-mail me for pics and I will be happy to send them to you. Thanks

Well congrats on the additional 14 :)
I suggest setting up an account at www.photobucket.com to use for posting pictures. Its very easy. After you upload images you just copy the [ img] tags and paste them into your post.
