How many of you guys use aspen as substrate ? For the past 15 plus years I have used a grove of trees in the form of newspaper and cypress mulch as well . I decided I would try aspen and I LOVE IT . Cleaning cages is so much quicker with the aspen and the weekly defecation of the boas doesn't mean I have to pull all the newspaper out and redo the whole cage which is very time consuming when you have many many animals to take care of .With the aspen its just the normal corners to clean and add a little back in . Yes aspen is more expensive than cypress but its worth it in the long run and time saved. It also really looks good as a background to Jeff's black 421D's which I would highly recommend if you are in need of caging .I have a boatload of sliding door neo's which are good cages but the heigth takes up more space so the 421D's gives you more bang for the buck and we all are addicts and crave more boas . The boaphile cages are really top notch and the craftsmanship is excellent . If Jeff would add one feature they would be perfect .Add a recess on the cool end and hotside(to help with humidity for the perfect respiratory function) to fit the standard 16 oz. deli cup and they would be far and above any competition and make life even easier unless Jeff includes a butler with each stack purchased to keep em clean.
