So I have this pastel that had been bred by my male hypo for over two months and then she was shipped to me with the hypo. I put my hypo male on my Hogg and later reintroduced him to my pastel. There was no interest on the males behalf, the female coiled on top of him and then hours later went to the other side of the cage and nothing was observed for 24 hours they both sat on opposite sides of the cage. I later put him back with the Hogg and watch out he was all over her. Now I have been I little worried about the pastel she has grouchy, and weezy only when being held, maybe just being vocal like most big snakes do, but no weezing when she is just in her cage. I have sat and listened to her breath for awhile. So I thought maybe better luck next year and have started to raise just her temp to help with the possible RI, she is at 83F with a 65% humidity. The other day I came in and she had crawled under her hide box which she is always in and was drinking from her water dish and when I came back I had noticed that she had drank a large amout of water around an inch or more. Could this be the big drink of water prior to ovulation? How long will a female wait to ovulate after being copulated , could moving her slowed down the ovulation process? Is my temp ok for the girl with the possibility of ovulation? She has been really cranky and not taking any food but my male has no interest in her and I have no more males. I hope I can get some help on this. Thanks for all those who read and I promise I will get some picks of my snakes one of these days.
