I saw this ad on kingsnake.com and you guessed it ..... I responded.
So, at 3:00a.m. I am off to Walmart to p/u supplies and it's off to Arizona City to p/u this poor  little guy.
After road construction and tons of traffic......and talk about air pollution......choke......blah.....yuck.
I finally get to my destination.........the Arizona city library...Whoowho.
I call Luis the owner of this boa and he meets me to go to his house.
He has an awesome collection of beautiful animals that are all very well cared for.
He is unemployed and when this happened had no means to take care of the animal.
So, after seeing the collection and almost boanapping his big albino female.......who is the mellowest boa ever......what a sweetie. I load up this boa and it is back to Las Vegas.
By the time I got home last night the vets office was closed so, I called and left a message......and they called me this morning at 8:30 a.m. to bring him in.
Well, the vet is keeping him.......since, his male parts have been exposed for about three days now and the flesh is necrotic it must be amputated.
Her main concern is infection so he will be put on anitbiotics for three weeks along with a topical for the surounding area.
The vet techs and I named him "Arizona" since that is were I drove to rescue him.
I will keep you posted on his progress........his surgery is in the morning and she will not release him to come home until 1:00 p.m.. which means my boyfriend will be picking him up after work tomorrow.
I feel so bad for the little guy but, I just want him to be O.K. and survive this.

Thats great. He's a pretty guy. I want to get a male salmon to breed but his male parts have been exposed for about three days now and the flesh is necrotic it must be amputated. it doesn't sound he's going to be doing any of that. But like I said he's still a pretty snake.Good luck with him! :'(

I saw that add shortly after it was posted. I'm glad someone stepped up. If only more people shared your compassion!

He won't be makin' love, but he sure will have a great singing voice!

Total flash back!! Back in 2000 I rescued a male albino corn snake with a exposed (well you know...one of the two) and he had to have it amputated. Poor guy. Im glad there people out there that will spend money on makeing a life better, then spend it on themselves to make there life richer. Did the vet say what might have caused it?

Well, Arizona had his surgery today and the exposed hemepene had to be amputated. The vet did say that the other one is perfectly fine and that he would be able to procreate however, she highly recommended that he not be bred. Just in case this were to happen again to him.
Right now he is still a bit tense.........I think the shock of all of this has upset him quite a bit.
He doesn't want to move around at all.........earlier he was holding his tail around his head area and did not want to let go of it. It looked very odd.......so I picked him up and just massaged his body then put him back in his house and turned the lights off. Hopefully the dark will make him feel more comfortable. I think the overnight stay at the vets office must have really scared him.......not to mention they chopped of his da kind.
He is on antbiotics every other day and goes in for a recheck in 10 days.
I hope he is O.K. after all of this.

Well, I just snuk into the boa room with my little flash light to check on Arizona and he is now investigating his new house.
I wonder if they keep the lights on all night at the vets office...........hhmmmm........ since, now he seems to be relaxing.
