I know Mr. Ronne says in his book that it is common for a female boa to fire off one side at a time for a total of 3 swells.2 pre-ov swells and one ovulation if I understand it correctly.Well I have got a 7ft normal female that had a noticeable pre- ov swell a couple weeks ago, then this went away and Thursday night looked like she was starting to swell again.Sure enough Fri. I get up and when I seen her I had to go and immediately put my hands physically on my wifes dog.Massive swelling,I took this for her ovulation, well this evening the swelling has gone away and my male is right back at it.Tail waving in the air, hemi's out the whole nine yards.I guess my question is could this just be the second pre-ov swell or if it was her ovulation why is the male working her so hard.If this was not her actual ovulation I fear when it comes she will burst.Sorry so long, and thanks for replies in advance!JOHN

I think he's pretty nice for a bald guy! (got ya Jeff). That being said I've seen the same thing happen with my females before. Thats not a problem, the male must still be getting the vibe to breed her. Maybe he knows she needs it, or its the first ov. and he needs to keep at it. What ever the case, trust him and dont worry about the female. Look very close for another swell! Look close also for that next shed cycle... dont worry! Sounds good. Keep us posted...... maybe Jeff can add to what Ive said with smarts behind it!

This is his second lady for me this year and I think if I started in Sept. instead of Nov.he could get three. He is a marathon runner, and is making OLE DAD proud!

Good luck with that girl John. I'd bet she already ovulated and the male has not figured it out yet. I would also recommend that you leave him in with her, just in case.

I gotta tell you that I got a chuckle from your first post where you said that the male had his hemis out. Kinda made me think of that Dodge commercial.

"That thing got a hemi in it?"

Why, yes, as a matter of fact it has two!!!

Sometimes I crack myself up.

Cheers,
Denny
