I have read this on the Internet site of redtailboa's.

1. Newspaper: The most economical method of substrate is to use newspaper. Newspaper is readily available and easy to clean and replace. This substrate is probably delivered to your door every day. I primarily use the newspaper substrate with one modification. I use about 1 inch of 100% plain clay kitty litter (no perfumes, no additives, just plain clay), and about 10 to 15 layers of newspaper on top of the clay. It is extremely effective. The down side is it is NOT visually appealing

Firstly I want say you all proficiat for the splendid site :'(
And then now my question :(

As you refresh the newspapers refresh you the kitty litter also or how do you go work?
I wants this also in my new viv's

If you are asking if you change the kitty litter when you change paper, I believe that you just spot clean the litter when changing paper. Some use only paper, which makes it very easy!

If I understand correctly, the newspaper looks unattractive? Try newsprint. Its the newspaper, but no writing or ink on it. Its the paper used for newspaper if i'm explaining this correctly.

I have found the best substrate is (Astroturf) you can go to home depot and buy enough for 2 peices in your cage for under $20 for a big cage when the one gets soiled pull it out and put the fresh one in. when you get arround to cleaning it just hose it off and roll it up for the next use! even though newspaper is free your still pay for the kitty litter and the news paper ink some times rubs off on the snake and I think it looks ugly. i used to use it years ago then I switched to aspen and I love the astroturf the best, If you dont really have the time to clean the cage at the moment you notice its been soiled it takes a minute to roll it up and put the spare one in then you can clean it when ever you get arround to it
