How are Dumeril's & Madgascar's related to BCI/CC?

Hey all-

Just wondering if anybody knows or can explain how in the heck the boas found on Madagascar are closely related to the boas found in the New World, and why the same boas aren't found anywhere on mainland Africa?

Seems pretty amazing that these two species can be closely related, but from what research I've done it appears that they are.

Here's the answer, I guess. Apparently plate tectonics have resulted in today's distribution of these animals. Also holds true for some species of lizards. Weird!
