View Full Version : Did Anyone Know ???
:o That when Dr. Stull named b.c.amarali, she only studied 9 specimens !!! sheezzz !!! I think she was a little low on the high end of amarali's scale count. 50 studied specimens might of answered more questions.

??? Hi Gregg,
There's really not all the much info on amarals boa. I just know that Stulls specimens of her studies came from the Sao Paulo region of Brazil. On a side note, I've seen pics of Sao Paulo locality b.c.amarali that looked exactly like what people here in the US call siverback Bolivians.
Cheers ............... Jim

Hello Jim, I have found a few interesting facts about the Amarali on Hermann & Erika Stockl's website, www.boa-constrictors.com/com/com.html, or something very close to that site address. But other than that I have not had much luck on Amarali either. Keep me informed of any good books/sites that you find on them. I would like to see those pics of the Sao Paulo region in Brazil, I bet they were nice looking boas. Thanks again, and good luck with the Amarali's. Here is a quick pick of a Silverback that came from Jeff himself.

Hello again, I found my topic with the Amarali pics, it is labeled Amarali pics, and is currently on the second page of the Boa Pics forum. Jim, do you know much about Longicauda? Just curious, I just bought one that is looking (hopefully) like it will be a silver/black phase adult and I am looking for as much information on these guys as I can find.
Thanks again for your great comments,
and have a good one, cwm11.gif

Hi Gregg,
I do not own either Amarali or longicauda, so i have no pics to share on these, sorry! You asked what I know about Longicauda ? I don't believe in longicauda or melanogastor. In my opinion, Longicauda is a constrictor imperator and melanogastor is constrictor constrictor.
all the best ............... Jim
