she's absolutely beautiful... and even better...

my friend is parting with her for only $100!!! (he was asking $200, but he gave me the "friendly discount"!)

let me know if there's something i need to know that is important to her health that i may not know.

i keep 2 columbians, 1 ball python (the handling snake!) and an african rock python (not ours yet... just snake sitting). i've been herping for almost 2 years now.

thanks for any input... and i'll post pics of her soon!

Hello there stargirl, I hope your Dumeril's is nice and adjusting well to it's new home. I have thought a lot about buying some Dumeril's, but just haven't found any yet that I've really really wanted. I want a really colorful one, just haven't seen any really nice ones at the herp shows lately. Please let me know how it's doing, and how much you like it, maybe you'll convince me to buy one or two. Can't tell you too much about their husbandry, but just wanted to ask how it was going and what you think of it as a pet. That price is pretty friendly, congratulations again, and good luck. They look like very nice boas to keep, please post any pics that you might get of it.
Have a good one, cwm11.gif

gregg -

thanks for the reply. lacey (the dumeril's name) is getting along nicely. only one "leave me alone i'm adjusting" snap at the glass!  ;) otherwise, she's sweet as sugar, and very mild mannered and easy to handle.

i'm in love with her so far. she's stolen my heart from my beloved female colombian... and i don't think it's temporary. i should have pics posted by monday! she was actually posing for the camera it seemed.

the price was just right, and i'm hoping to come into a male soon that's just as beautiful as her. she's gorgeous and i would love to have more that look and act just like her.

check back soon for the pics! (and if she breeds, i'll sell you one for the same friendly price b27.gif)

Hello, well I'm very happy to hear that everything is going well with your new favorite pet. I bet the Columbian is missing the attention. Some pics would be great. And if I ever see any males at friendly prices I'll try to send the information your way. And I would also be a very happy camper if you breed her and pass on the friendly price...I'd probably take two off your hands for you...hahaha. Well, I hope you new Dumeril's keep you happy for a long time to come. Good luck on finding a male.

AAARRRGGGHHH!!! my pics didn't come out, so i'm going to try to borrow my work's digital camera and get some on here soon!!!

i do hope to breed her sometime in the future, but who knows how long it will be... since the hubby and i are trying so hard for colombians, lacey just might have to stay lonely for a little while longer.

who knows... maybe someone in town will want to breed and share the profits sometime soon.

i will definitely be selling babies of any species (as soon as i get them!!!) at a very reasonable price. we want to sell them all for probably no more than $150 or so, we haven't decided, but anyone who helps me learn anything i can about breeding is going to get a VERY friendly discount!!!

I was hoping your pics would show up, but I guess I can wait until you borrow a camera b27.gif.
I might buy a pair of Dum's sometime soon, so if I am able to help you out in any way with breeding/husbandry I will (but I am planning on getting help myself s1.gif
I will keep looking for a male for Lacey. I am actually waiting (tomorrow) for a pair of Longicauda and another female suri...can't wait to see these guys in person. I will post pics maybe this weekend of them. Just got a Great Dane too, so he is getting most of the attention at this point...hahaha.
Have a good one,
Gregg

Hi Stargirl,
I have pair of dumerils. They both are wonderful snakes. Neither have ever displayed anything other than a very calm gentle temperment. Every dumeril I have ever handled has been the same. The only problem I have had is that mine will only eat about once a month, so they grow a little slower then other snakes that I've had. Good thing my yellow anaconda is a bottomless pit or else I'd be wasting alot of food. ;D
The male is 3 yoa and is 5', the female is just under 2 yoa and is 3'. Both just get more gorgeous as they get older, I'm always amazed by how colorful they are.
Good luck and enjoy the new family member.
