View Full Version : Puzzling ? about Brazillian Rainbows
I put my much smaller brb in with my larger brb and when I went to check on them today the smaller one was gone. I can't figure out how in the world it could have gotten out. I've had normal boa's for years. Is there any evidence that larger brb might feed on smaller brb's? If I even thought there might be a remote possibility I would not have put them together. I am guessing the smaller one just somehow got out and I will keep looking for it. Any comments on this dilemma?

I kept brb for about 5 years i bought one as a yearling and another as an adult and they lived in the same cage with no problems. I have not heard of brb feeding on each other.

BRB's are known for eating their slugs and/or still borns after giving birth... this is a natural instict which has helped them survive in the wild.
Brb's are easily enticed with different smells including human skin..
There is a chance your smell, or a prey's smell, was on the smaller, and it is not impossible, that the larger ate the smaller.
Could be so small that it is hiding somewhere you overlooked?
Could you have maybe overlooked an escape path?
or the above 'nightmare' could have become a reality...
Hope you find him... and NOT after the larger goes poop!
take care - Joe
HI,
I ve noticed that BRB are always hungry, I hope we are wrong.
Either way BRB don't do well without heat and humidity for very long..
