I have a red tail boa which i got for nothing.Needless to say he was very sick.Thank god he is still alive. H had mouth rot and a respitory infection and did not eat in 9 months.Well he is now doing great ;D s9.gif I believe he is smaller though because of this. I was wanting to mate him with a female who is 3 yrs.but she is much larger. Is this a problem? Also i would like some informatiom on breeding.I do live in florida so the weather is always nice for him.. Anyway if anyone could help me i would appreciate it. thank you so much P.S. she is pretty tempermental where he is very easy going with everyone..

Size will not matter, at least in most cases, and if the female is cycled out the male will most likely do his job. I would usually drop the temp on my BC to about 78-80 to get 'em cycled, maybe even a few degrees cooler than that, but be careful about a respiratory infection developing if too cool. The temperment of your female should not matter. Its never been a problem in my breeding endeavors except for AZ Coral snakes (seems the females considered the males as prey if they were not cycled.)
