Unfortunately I have had two bad experiences with newborn/neonate Solomon Island Boas, both of which died. One came to me from, well a very 'nasty' private breeder. I tried my best to save the little fela but he quickly developed many problems including skin sores and other ailments. The second one I had seemed to be doing great, he was eating very small newborn pinkies, everything looked great. I checked on him daily, and one morning he was just dead. In this case it appeared from his final position tat he tried to regurge the pinky he ate the evening before but couldn't and died from it.
At any rate, in my experiences and from what others have told me, Sol neonates can be VERY difficult to raise for many reasons. If yours is small, baby frogs and lizards are better than pinkies until the snake gets a little size. Beliow are a couple sites I found that cover the bare basics for them.

In the wild they live in dense forest cover on island, so te naturally take to the branches. They also, however have a strong instinct to hide. They are named 'ground' boa, perhaps in error, but are very good climbers.
I am glad to hear your Sol is doing well, I think they are awesome snakes and plan on attempting to breed them sometime in the future. Though that may be a year or two off.
Good luck,
John :'(

I got a soloman about a year ago and have had nothing but good luck. I was always told that they were a difficult snake to
keep with things like feeding problems and so on but mine has been great. it was extreamly unhelthy when I got it but perked up great after a month or two.

We have three soloman island boas... One male and two females... They are all doing great in just a standard rack system... I haven't had a problem yet with them... They are great boas. They are adults to though... I haven't had the oppurtunity of raising one from a baby on my own yet though... Hopefully they will produce some babies this year so I will finally get to see how difficult people say they are... Or if they aren't difficult at all! We keep ours on aspen and have a huge water bowl in with them... The water bowl is very important for them... Make sure it is big! Thats what mine seem to enjoy best. Hope any of this helps!!!
