Alright... So, I am considering a true red tail. Wondering what is your guys favorites.

My limitations are these:

1. Cannot get over 10ft.

well, huh... guess that is it. I have 4 imperators, and would love to get something else. Can I see what you guys have? (Adult pics are always better)

Thanks in advance...

HI,
I have two BCC I was wondering why you are worried about 10 ft. Many boa's Can get big, most breeders are taking the biggest and best looking females for breeding stock so I ve seen a couple huge BCI, some bigger than some BCC.
Here's a couple that are almost three still growing and getting bigger..
My guess close to 7 ft

the males a little smaller than the female on the same diet

I ve heard 10 ft is not that big for female BCC, at around 5-6 years old on a aggresive diet.

last month after feeding I removed the lid and the female dropped by to see the male they sometimes hang in a pile , the usally go to different parts of the cage the female stays on the shelf next to the heat and the male stay on the lower cooler part of the cage.

here's a post about big boa's on Mc carthy's web page 1/2 of the boa's are BCI most are bigger than my BCC .. hehe

Doug is right there... some BCI get HUGE and will be bigger than BCC due to there heavyer body mass. You may as well pic the BCC of your choice, and if you are wanting a smaler BCC get a male. My personal choice would be a peruvian, but thats because I like BIG boas...

I think all true redtails are exquisite animals, although as we know, some are nicer than others. In other words, I would look around and see what is available and then decide. The most beautiful redtail I have seen personally was a WC female that a guy in Brownsville, Texas brought back from Surinam. She had a white, and I do mean white, ground color with a nice bright redtail. I have never seen another redtail compare to her. Unfortunately, I sent my one and ownly pic of her to a importer in Florida asking if he could get me one like her. He never returned my photo, but did say he had never seen one so nice and would keep any that did come in like her for himself. LOL.

I Have a Guyana that I adquired 2 months ago, about 4 feet, it developed scale rot and I currently trying to bring her back to health i even think that at the very tip of the tail the bone is exposed, Im using betadine and water for soaking and neosporin, a lot of the affected scales are falling of I want to use her for breeding, so I hope she makes it.
If you guys have any experice on this subject and want to help please feel free to do so.
Thanks
Alex
