Though a Boa owner for over 30 years, I've only had about 5. Our latest Boa, Bobo, is the oddest one I've ever owned. He is more docile than any I have ever seen. He doesn't mind me putting my hand in his cage to take him out. He almost climbs on to my arm in anticipation of getting out. Once he is out, he loves to sit in either my lap or my 4 y/o son's lap. If you try to put him on the floor, he climbs right back into our laps. Trying to put him back in his cage is always a fight. He tries as hard as he can to remain free. I think the funniest thing about him is his eating habits. We feed him frozen/thawed mice but we've never seen him eat. He refuses to eat while we are there and only consumes his food during the middle of the night. One time we actually saw him with his meal in his mouth but he dropped it as soon as he saw us, choosing to eat privately later. We give him water sometimes by placing a spoon under his chin and he rests his head on the spoon while drinking. We call him our lap snake and never knew a snake could have such a unique "personality". My wife, who hates snakes and does not trust them feels extremely comfy with Bobo, knowing that he is not a threat to our son.
