TV Show "Constrictors"

Did anyone catch the show called Constrictors last night on Animal Planet? It was mainly about pythons but made references to Boas during the show and a couple of times it even showed pics of Boas. It was about how deadly constrictors are, both in the wild and in captivity. My opinion of the show was that the people who were snake owners and became severe constricted victims made serious mistakes in approaching 100-200 lb. giants. One of the victims who suffered from severe bites said from his hospital bedside that people should not own pythons and boas because they are still wild animals. My bet is 1 week after he leaves the hospital, he'll be at some reptile show trying to scoop up a new snake. LOL Try and catch the show if it comes back on the schedule again. It was pretty amusing.

I saw that show, It was lame it is like the bs on the news, every time someone gets attacked by a pit bull its the top story, but you don't see anyone talking about people getting attacked by a cocker spaniel or a lab. The only thing that was good about that show was there tips on getting your big snake to let go. I have personaly been bitten a couple times over the last ten years and it is an interesting feeling, but every time it happens I end up laughing at myself for doing something stupid. I don't hold it against the snake, after all I knew it was a snake when I picked it up!

I think almost everyone has been bitten a time or two while keeping these animals. I know I have and I always know where to place the blame... myself for, like Panama_Red said, doing something stupid, I.E., pick up hidebox and freak out sleeping boa.  s3.gif

Lets see. Wild animals. Dogs where once wild and now they are domsticated and still attack people more often then snakes! I don't like dogs. I am NOT a dog person, however I do put up with them. Even so, I don't attack dog-owners. I don't wake up in the morning think how I can raise some hell for those people who like doe like dogs. I leave them dogs and their keepers be. I wish those people who don't like snakes would just let us be with our animals as well. We aint hurting no one. Most of us snake keepers are reponsable. There are far more unresponsable dog-keepers out there then there are unresponsable snake keepers.
