DH??? (whassat?)

I see the term DH (double het). cwm13.gif How can something be Double Het? ??? Or is it a term somebody made up to sell more snakes?

If you breed an albino and an anery together all the babies will be DH ,also meaning that thay carry both the albino and the anery gene.DH just means that a snake is het for two different genes. ;D

I'm not for sure what all you would get breeding them back to the parents.If you breed them back to the albion you would get some albion,some het for albion and probly some Dh,but I'm not sure about the Dh.And I think the same would happen with the anery gene.
The biggest thing about the dh is when you breed them together You get boas like the Ghost,Snows,Sunglows ect.

Hi Bill hopefully I can clear this up for you a little bit. Chris is right about DH (double het) meaning that the snake is het for two different traits such as both anery and albino, that would be DH for snow. If you breed a DH back to a parent it would be like breeding just a normal het back to the parent. ie breeding a DH for snow to the albino parent, you would get hets for albino, albinos and they would all have a 50% chance of being het for anery.

normally you would breed two double hets togther and one in 16 would be the resualt of both genes showing togther. Once again going back to the example of the snow boa witch is both anery and albino genes at the same time.

Now the question is?? Can you have a triple het? IE Salmon, Albino, and anery. You would get some cool babies.

for a triple het for the genes you mentioned salmon albino anery. you could either breed a snow to a salmon or an anery to a sunglow or a albino to a ghost. and im thinking if you breed a sunglow het ghost to a ghost het sunglow you will get blizzard boas

Triple het is definatly a possibility but you could not produce one from the combo mentioned, hypo is either hypo or not there is no het for hypo this is a codominate trait you have to have recessive triats to produce a triple het like striped x anery x albino, a DH for sunglow is not realy DH for sunglow it's a hypo het for albino witch would be a sunglow.

They are just called dh sunglow since you will get both hypo and albino when it is bred
