I've seen mention of boas being f1, f2, f3, f4, etc...... Exactly what does that mean?? I know it must be refering to different generations, but I'd like to know how you figure out what each one is.
Thanks,
Linda

F1, F2, F3, F4 are just a numeric generation lable, an f1 salmon is from a salmon bred to a normal all of the resulting salmon offspring would be codominant, If you bred two f1 salmons together the resulting offspring would be F2 and about half would be dominant supers. As far as how to tell them apart, you would have to take the breeders word for it, F1, F2, F3.... I have seen ugly supers and f1's that look like they should be a super, the only way to tell for shure is to prove them by breeding them. I hope that helps.
