Hi. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a book or a site explaining genetics in full detail. How the dominant, co-dom, etc. etc. stuff works and which traits are which. I went to the genetics wizard site someone posted and it seemed kool but only if you have some genetic knowledge already. Any help would........help. Thanks. -Chris

Hi Chris. This book is one of the best at explaining everything about reptile genetics and mutations. It isn't easy reading, but it explains everything you would want to know about morphs and genetics. Its a little pricey though, so you may want to check your library (although I doubt they will have it and the librarian will probably look at you a little akward ;D).
Good luck.

Thanks. I'll see if I can find that book somewhere. As far as that site goes you need to know if your "mutations" are dominant and other stuff like that which I don't know so it doesn't really help me much there. Thanks again. -Chris

I'm not having any luck finding it. Does anyone know of a website where I can buy it or maybe someone has a copy they can part with?? Thanks again. -Chris

Try Amazon, they usually have books on reptile mutations. As far as learning, low level genetics are fairly easy once you get comfortable with understanding Mendel's squares.

Chris,
Did you ever find this book? What did you think?

Hey Shane,
I haven't gotten it yet. I ordered it from Barnesandnoble.com and a couple days later they cancelled my order saying they didn't have it. I then ordered it from alibris.com and the same thing happened. Then I ordered it through classbook.com and guess what?? The next day they cancelled my order saying they didn't have it. So anyway I'm still looking around. I find it at amazon.com but the prices were much better at the other sites but then again they didn't have them. If I can't find it in the next couple months then I'll just go ahead and order it from amazon. I'll let you know whenever I do get it. Sorry I couldn't be more help. -Chris
