View Full Version : Insurance ?
Does anybody keep insurance on their high end Boas? If so what type (i./e. Loss, theft, health, death), and who sells it.

My Insurance is a Rottweiler and a Glock .45! ;D Sorry Bill I didn't mean to make fun of your question, I just couldn't resist! :) I honestly never thought about it personally, but I do know that dogs, cats and birds can all be insured. I don't see why a high end boa couldn't be insured. Try checking with your agent, maybe he/she could help you find some answers. Try checking in the Classifieds in Reptile mag. or Kingsnake.com. I would love to hear what you find!

I know what you mean. I have an anti-social pit bull cwm1.gif, but we are not always home. Thought more protection was in order.

Though not available in NYS where I am located, I hope this website can help you get insurance for your pet, Your pet needs to be at least 90 days old and in your possession for more than 60 days to qualify. Good luck.

has anyone else checked into this?
hi,
My guess a good alarm system on your home that includes a fire alarm cause we all know keeping reptiles warm :-/ can cause problems sooner or later..

I finally broke down an purchased a good generator for my home to help during them northeaster's that can pull the plug on power for 24 hours..... them boa's don't care for cage temps of 32 degree's me neither... ::)

My free roaming burms are insurance for theft!Nobody would dare break in! LOL
I don't know where you live and I guess that would depend on insurance.I have insurance for my animals, I would be more worried about fire and earthquake than theft and I have insurance for that included with my home insurance. It's a good idea to let the local fire dept. know about them just in case of fire.

It's really not a good idea to let big pythons roam free. But if you were a thief and broke into a house and came face to face with a 16 foot, 120 lb. burm you'd probably run away.I know I'd be more scared of a giant snake than a pitbull.

yeah i know, that was one of my dad's friends theories in college, he let a burm crawl around his house all day. didnt bother locking doors, let a rabbit or two go running around the house every month...not the brightest tool in the shed

i wouldnt mind having insurange on a boas, Of course a boa that is worth a good amount,motley,ghost,snow,albino... I will most likely never have any of those, well maybe the bino! hahaha but yeah insurance would be pretty cool!

I tried to get my collection covered with my renters insurance, they totally refused. When they asked me if I had any collections, I was like yeah. My herp collection is worth a couple thousand. It's the only thing I own that's worth anything (besides the cages). They totally refused. Not fair. My friend just got a $20,000 lucisitic (did I spell that right?) snake stolen from him. They knew the exactly where he kept it and didn't touch the rest of his collection at all. Someone needs to start insurance that covers pet theft!!
