View Full Version : Does anyone see the similarity in these morphs?

Just wondering if anyone sees the similarity in these morphs: Motley, arabesque, CBLT, and possibly tiger?. The motley has a few different genetic lines, Colombian Roylance, Stone, and the CA motley as well as the argentine. They are proving to do the same thing in super form, even though the CA motley is quite different looking (thin tigerish striping) from the classic motley. You end up with a patternless boa as the super. What do all of these morphs have in common? They all have a connecting pattern, with the possibility of side striping, and tail striping. Be it a bold and blocky or a thin connected pattern, they are realy different versions of the same morph characteristic.

Now with that said, Who thinks the super forms of arabesque and codominant CBLT's is going to be a patternless?

Just somthing I had noticed.......

I don't know if I think the dominant form of the arab will be a patternless (I atleast sure hope its not, I love the arab look, and don't want the super form to "ruin" that.) I however would not be surprised if the genetic cblt and arabesques when both proven out have a similar look to them in super form. I am hoping a more pronounced pattern and perhaps a more contrasting difference between pattern and base color are the extent.

I do see what you are saying though, as all of the above mentioned pattern mutations effect the same basic characteristics of the animals, so potentially could be effecting the same gene. Similar to the different "yellow bellies/fire belly/platinums" etc in ball pythons.

I had realy thought this since the first super motleys were produced.  But the CA super motley being a patternless, and looking so different from the classic motley realy makes you wonder. I like the look of the arabesque too ( I can't wait untill tuesday ;D) But if they do end up as a patternless in super form that would just mean that many more arabesque babys from a super breeder!

Definetely good point on that.. But I don't know if I want to have an "ugly" animal to help produce the nice ones..lol I take that back.. I know I would gladly have the ugly patternless one to produce more of the saweet looking ones.. I would just have to keep a few of the codoms around to enjoy..
