Can anybody tell me what is Jungle Boa? And, how can you tell them from regular boas?

an animal can only be considered a jungle if it it descended from the proven genetic line. jungle is a co-dom trait, which causes variable pattern aberrancies; no two are exactly the same. the supers have a sort of "zig-zag" pattern. if you have an aberrant animal that is not descended from the jungles, it cannot be considered a jungle unless it produces supers when bred to a jungle, proving it to be the same mutation (though this is a bit tricky since its a co-dom morph). this is not to say that other aberrant animals cannot be proven genetic, but you cant call it a morph til its proven, and you cant call it a jungle unless it is compatable with the original line.
So I have a male that has never been bred. I got him from a guy that said his grandmother bought it for him and paid a lot of money because he (the boa) was "special." The guy just wanted to get rid of it because he was afraid after it got to be about 5 feet. I've had him about 3 years. I liked his red color and abberant pattern. Never gave gave it a lot of thought until I started noticing similar boas with a steep price tag that looked a lot like him. I only paid $50.00 for him.
But anyway it sounds like the only way to prove him is to breed him to another jungle?

Hey Bill,
The Jungle line of boas originated in Sweden. All of the true Jungle boas in the US today can trace their origins back to that line. If you cannot definitively trace youe boa to that origin then I'm afraid you'll never know for sure.
If your boa IS a Jungle then it will produce some other Jungles when bred to a normal. If it were bred to another Jungle, the babies would be considered Jungles regardless of the origin of your original male.
I would love to see some pics of your guy if you have any to post!
