yet another heat topic

hello all,
I have read and heard alot about heat issues for general care and breeding issues and all seem to be in the same general arena but the question I have is where are you taking the reading from?floor temp where direct contact is, or two inches above the floor so the floor temp is alot higher when using heat tape.

When I take temps, I take readings from the floor of the cage. Afterall, my boas spend more time there than anywhere else in the cage ;)! When taking temps, I use a Raytek Raynger ST60 Infrared Thermometer and HIGHLY recommend their products! I have had far too many standard thermometers that were inaccurate and unreliable!
