One of the baby snakes developed a little fluid between her cornea and her specticle. We took her to the vet who drained the fluid and sent it in for a culture, but she doesn't know what might have caused this.... besides a possible bacterial infection (hense the culture).

Has anybody ever heard of such? Know what might cause this? I am most likely not going to sell this baby because of this problem or at least not for a while until I am sure that there is nothing wrong with her.

hi morti

cb here. i have seen this only in an adult burmese python! i dont know what it was or how it turned out but the guy who owned the burm said something about a bacterial infection. they looked like 2 golf balls were the eyes should be.

i hope the lil' boa will be ok!

Turned out that after the vet drained it, she sent it to the lab for anaylisis... It was a NASTY strain of Staph. It responded to Baytril though, so she stopped the Claforin and had me put the snake on oral baytril. No more problems! :-)
