My female redtail has not eaten since the end of october.we have taken her to the vet 3 times since then all for RI .We have done everything the vet has told us to do for her..make the cage hotter,showers.....any idea on how we can get her to eat? we have force fed her about 6 pinkies the past couple of weeks but she still won't eat on her own. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks......
You might contact your vet and tell him/her about the problem. If the vet thinks it is a serious problem there is medication that can stimulate appitite.

always check your temp!!! then go from the simplest to the hardest solution, is it a newborn? does it have mouth rot? is it a new home? and a goood friend of mine whose been a reptile owner for years told when boa's are reluctant to feed trt chicken hearts or livers but not in excess!!!!!!![spelling maybe wrong sorry ]..and please dont give up hope!!!!!!
There is a product called "Jump Start" that stimulates the appetite. It has worked for some of my colubrids and also has worked for my bearded dragons. I use it at the store with anything that comes in sub-par and it is amazing stuff.

If all else fails, and you have COMPLETELY run out of options, you MIGHT want to consider fedding maybe a couple of live pinkies for a few weeks. Then switch to frozen/thawed and "trick" your boa.
But may be to inhumane. Just a suggestion.
