Hey Colonel,
Check out Clay's care sheets in the Boa Constrictor Instant Lesson section. Both Clay and Jeff do a great job of explaining what to do. All I would add is the importance of quarantining your new boas from your established animals. If these are your first boas, then you have nothing to worry about. If you have an established collection,DO NOT introduce your Guyanans to your collection! IMO quarantining is the single most important step you can take to insure the health of your animals! I currently quarantine any new boas for 90 days. I NEVER handle/feed/clean the quarantined animals before going into my boa room. I ALWAYS do any cleaning and feeding in my Boa Room BEFORE going into my quarantine room! I have seperate cleaning and feeding supplies for my quarantined boas and established boas. Basically, there is NO contact between my established boas and the quarantined animals EVER! 90 days gives you plenty of time to treat for mites, make sure your new boas are eating and defecating with no problems, observe if there are any other medical problems and get a good general idea of the animals overall health. I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGH, QUARANTINE ANY NEW ANIMALS FROM YOUR ESTABLISHED COLLECTION!!!! Prevention really IS the best cure! I'll step down from my soapbox now, good luck with your Guyanans :)!

Awesome! Glad to hear you quarantine your animals! I didn't always, fortunately I acquired my animals from reputable breeders and never had any problems! Again, Good Luck with your Guyanans :)! Love the Homer pic under your name ;D! DOH!!!!
Erich
thanks homer is tha shit ;D. But yah quarantining is a must I started doing it after I read about IBD. I am glad I do because I had one boa that had IBD, and I was so worried but luckily it did not spread thanks to quarantining.
