I will be getting a Red-tail this week from a guy as a rescue they had found it loose in the park.  I've read all the care sheets I could find.  Is there anything special I should be aware of?  The snake is about 6ft which makes it the biggest snake I've ever kept and it's also the first red-tail.  I've kept plenty of colubrids and Ball pythons.  So I am some what prepared some of my current collection are rescues.  Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Rohman,
I really hate to sound like I'm preaching, but if you do one thing, QUARANTINE that boa for at least 90 days! If you already practice sound quarantine practices Please don't take offense! If you don't, PLEASE heed this advice! I would hate to see any of your established collection be exposed to any harmful pathogens or parasites! Good Luck! :)

Right now my quarantine consists of a separate room from the others and I throughly wash my hands after handling any of my other snakes. Are there any further steps I should take? Thanks for your help.

I would recommend that you have seperate cleaning supplies and feeding utensils for your Quarantine room. I would also recommend that you do any cleaning/feeding with your established collection First and do your Quarantined animals last. The goal is to have NO contact between your establised collection and your quarantined animals. It's not always practical to Quarantine, but the potential consequences of not practicing sound Quarantine techniques can be devastating!
