cwm15.gif I FINALLY RECIEVED THE BOA I WON! I HAVE A QUESTION?? SHE IS OPAQUE. WHAT I HAVE READ SO FAR; AFTER THEY CLEAR UP FROM BEING OPAQUE THERE EYES WILL CLEAR UP BEFORE THEY FULLY SHED; CAN THEY BE HANDLED AND/OR FEED? OR DO I WAIT UNTIL SHE HAS GONE THROUGH FULL SHEDDING PROCESS??
THANKS DENNIS s32.gif
b27.gif Congrats on that boa ..
Raise the humidity and leave the boa' alone until he or she sheds, most boa's are a bit grumpy and are almost blind with those eye caps being blue.
I wouldn't feed either it usally last a week or less,
here's a pic of a 16 mos guyana in shed his expresion says it all

When it comes time for my animals to shed, I usualy leave them alone. Every once in a while I will accidently feed one while they are in a shed cycle. This usualy happen with my snow corn snakes. Nothing bad usualy happens although once I had a kicking rodent that I knocked out tear some of the shedding animals old skin.

Hi ,
I would like to suggest that you keep records on the shed , poos and feedings, I am real high tech and use a three/five card on the cage..
I tended to feed a couple days early and thats causes occasional refusals to eat and such, and you'll start to see patterns and can sort of expect that shed and such. Its also good for the vet they can see what your talking about when something changes..
Just a thought, I have four boa's each has a card and
I can tell you to the day when I'll feed the next couple of weeks. I started this method after recieving a new boa from CLay and It had every feeding from the day he was born on it.every shed and such... Real Neat..
Most Boa' keepers have some tracking methods either software or in my case 3/5 cards.
Good luck You'll be a pro in no time
