This morning he wouldn't eat a thawed fuzzy. I have have never given him live food before so I went out and could only find a tan miniture hopper. When I came home I wasn't sure on how to knock him out so I hit the brown bag against the wall lightly, and I killed it! :-X It was an accident- i swear. So I try him anyways. Oscar sniffed and licked him a bit like with all the others, and just as Oscar was turning away the mouse starterd flying all over the place, but only it's left side, the right was paralyzed (I had it on the end of some tongs) and I swear I heard oscar go "what the s5.gif !!!" Oscar jumped back and then bowled this lil mouse right over, as he lunged he picked him right off the ground and they both went flying across the cage. I guess he was hungry after all. ;D
p.s. i stop using that repti-glo 5.0 it seems too bright. just got a halogen on him now w/ uth & che.

Exelent, now quit beating the prey animals to death, If they are to small to wack, then they most likley won't be able to harm your boa. When your boa is big enough to eat larger animals start to ween it off live food, I have found this easyer than feeding youngsters FT, all of my boas are healthy and big.

When I first got mine I tried to feed f/t right away and she just out right wouldn't. So eventually i tried live and my baby ate it like it was candy. I am just now (5 monthes later) getting her to eat dead at all. I take a live mouse dangle it in front of her and just as she is about to strike I take it out and kill it. I do this by put in a pen behind it's head and pulling the tail, this breaks their neck really quick although it does take some practice. Then I dangle it back in front of her and she takes it. Next week i am gonna try and feed her a fresh killed right away and see what happens
