Just wanted to give some feedback on the wonderful quality of Jeff Ronne's animals and caging...
I got a Fine Line yearling from Jeff this past April, who I chose to house in one of Jeff's superb BoaPhile Plastics cages. When I took her in for her first veterinary exam shortly after I received her, she weighed 245 grams and was about 28" long.
I've just returned from another vet checkup (I plan to go every six months until she's about three or so), and today my sweet baby girl weighs 440 grams and is around 38" long. My vet, who is very experienced with reptiles, says she is looking great. Not bad for six months in my care!
While I'm know it's possible to grow a boa up faster than this, I choose to take a more conservative approach, only feeding every 7 days. My girl is currently eating small adult rats, con mucho gusto as the Spanish say. I'm pleased with her growth rate and with the fact that she has perfect sheds about once a month.
I just wanted to say how great it is to be the owner of one of Jeff's animals, and how easy his cages make caring for them. I run a Helix DBS-1000 thermostat with Flexwatt, and it's a snap to keep my cage temperatures and humidity spot-on. I never have any feeding problems (in fact, she's been a real pig since day one!) and my girl seems to be quite happy.
Thanks Jeff! You've made this pet owner happy!
