hey yall, I'm new to this site and right off the bat I've got trouble! :' cwm24.gifThe first isn't too bad, a col. with a bit of attitude. I just have to handle her. Her old (for a 14 year old)owner was scared of her because she "hissed"once. What a nancy boy! He came in to my office with his brother who was trying to join my beloved Marine Corps. talking about giving away a boa because it hissed. Being the good Marine I, am I took the evil beast home!
My second and major concern here is with two babies(?) I took away from one of my recruits friends. ( I can do that I work for the government, just don't tell the kid!) I can't tell any thing about them other than they are boas and they need help.
I got rid of the mites. Now they won't eat, they both have RI and they have skin on them that looks like they should have shed a few weeks ago. What do I do first?
I was thinking the shed, dark tupper ware w/ wet towels could let them relax a little too.. Then on to feeding. I already tried forceing. They just rubbed it out, so I'm going to tube them like I do my CORNS sorry... Only I'm going to use (my wife's blender to chop up) fuzzy rat pups w/ egg and Hydro life to see if I can kick start these guys. Any other sugestions would be most helpful you can even e-mail me if yaunto. Thanks in advance ....Blue.. ;D

Some people spend an entire life time wondering if they made a difference. Marine don't have that problem. HI,
Once a boa has RI its important to be sure the cage is warm enough. Most repitles require a vet visit to completly recover from RI. It also requires several injection over a couple weeks,I have become an expert at giving snakes injection, if your going to keep boa's and pythons you may want your vet to train you to also give shots, its save a ton of money if you have two sick boa's. Be sure that the cage is a tleast 82 on the cool side until the RI is gone..
good luck
Doug

s32.gif Semper Fi,
Sorry to hear about the snake. Hope you will be able to get them better. You might try to lower your humidity a little untill the RI is all gone. Keep us posted Leatherneck.
