I keep a Green Tree python that I just got probably a little more than a month ago. From the advice of Greg Maxwell, the water it gets, misting and in bowl, are reverse osmosis water. I figured since Im buying the water for the chondro why not my boa. Since I have been using the reverse osmosis water with my boa, I get urate balls much more. I used to see them only when she defacated which is rare. Now she drops a few every week and a half to two weeks. I thought some might find this interesting

HI,
I keep tree frogs and its a real important to only use dist water .. I have noticed since the humans in the household drink the dist water they prefer it to soda pop and we have noticed an increase in frequency proably due to the increase in consumption it taste better. I buy around 35 gals every other week at 35 cents a gallon, every 40 i get a free 5 gal's refil. My wife will not drink the tap water here in Va it gives her heartburn.Since changing to dist she's dosen't need tagamet.
There are things in drinking water that are not rotuinely tested for insectacide, herbacide, and some heavy metals from run off from industry. I read an article at another forum that herbacides are leaching into rivers and lakes and has caused negative effects on many frogs.... the long term effect on animals and humans cannot be fully understood because we dont know what to test for..Geeze and them Vegtables and fruits from outside of the USA cannot be routinely tested for insectacide/herbacides Yechhh. cwm8.gif
. But working in a hospital lab for nearly 30 years we are seeing an increase in them human animals with unsual type of cancer and lymphomas .. I hope I am wrong. You better drink dist too I can't reccomend reversed osmosis because the osmosis filter can grow bacteria and viruses and the waters a little to pure (neg charge) it can leach vitamins and minerals from you stomach.. The reagent laboratory grade water I make at work is so pure it will dissolve stainless steel... hehe great for cleaning that coffee pot ..so the prefered drinking water is dist,, not deionized. that spring water is so loaded with salts and minerals it may clog you pipes hehe, hey that water hut is the rage here in VA to all us water Guru's :o :o whoops I am boring the forum again

[color=Red]At Redtailboas.com I tryed to suggest that tap water is not good and every body jumped my case... ??? ??? I thought it was weird.. I mean I thought every body knows that tap water sux.. Does evey body think it is a status thing when they see half of the population drinking distiled and spring water..?? They have linked the ruduction of frogs to run off from farm's and other industreal plant's... It also have been seen that the population has a over abundance of medical cases that only can be explaned as the result of bad health.. That starts with what you drink and eat... They say if you have a pure organic diet then you can reduce you chances of having cancer by like 70% That has to say somthing about the water situation... one of the first thing's a doc will say when you try to switch to organic is start drinking ether distiled or spring water and leave tap water out even in cooking... this also should tell people somthing.. But it does not seem to at all Well I have never been the type that cared if you killed your self or not... so I realy don't care if people listen..
I know that my snakes all have very helthy sheds I don't raise the humidity in the cage when my snakes are going to shed just 60-65% like normal.. It is always perfect just like it is supposed to be and that is what I want for my snakes...
