Stubborn Eater

*sigh* I am sick of wasting money, food, and time on this guy. It's been almost a month and a half since he's eaten, and that was a hopper. He's large enough to eat small rats, but has refused EVERY single rat I have given him, frozen and pre killed. When he does eat and I have to practically stick my finger up the mouses a$$ and do an hour long puppet show for him.... *sigh*...... s17.gif -sTEVE

yeah, he's been eating pretty fequently ever since januaray. He's blown up in size! On Jan. 28 he was 30in and on Feb 22 he was 35.5in!!! I feed him weekly on small rats, he'll get beefed up to mediums once I run my stock out.

The way I got him to start eating was I would wait for him to go into his hallow rock and while waiting I defrosted a rat on a heat rock outside of the cage, after about 5-6 hours it felt like it had just died, then I nuked it for a little but of life for 10 seconds, or until it made any popping noise, then I just mearly places the animals head at the front of the opening like it was sneeking in from the side, turned the lights out, closed off the room, and waited, but the time I come back and look under his rock he gives me this look like "rat? what rat?-- I still dont like eating". Been happy every since -sTEVE
