I saved this snake from a lonely slow death, that someone had left in a dark spot in their garage, waiting on it to die. When I first Got it it was super scared, and would hiss and strike at you, but after a few months of work with it, it has turned out to be a really gentle snake. I was told that it was a Red Tail Boa, but I went to do research myself, and I sure doesn't look like a true Red Tail Boa, The only boa I could find that fits it's markings is the Boa Constrictor Imperator from El Salvador.
Any suggestions?

I've been told my boa will darken as it ages. It's only a little over 3 feet long right now. I didn't think it was columbian boa, because the columbian boas have tails which are more red in color. My snakes tail doesn't seem to be red at all, just brown.

You'd have to check his passport to be sure....j/k......but he looks like a Colombian to me!
Thank you for saving that wonderful creature from a horrible fate. :'( :'(
Denny ;D
Looks like a colombian to me too.
You can't go by the color of the tail. I have true redtail boas that have orange and even brown tails.
