Not unless its cedar, if your just putting a branch from your yard in the terrarium be sure to wash it in a bleach soloution 2/10 works well. Also be sure to rinse very well and allow to dry before placing the branch in the enclosure.
What arboreal species are you keeping that you would need a climbing branch? In retrospect that has a few things to do with wood selection.

They don't need a log but as neo's some like to climb a little but once adults they never climb. I'd suggest baking the log rather than just a bleach solution..baking it will kill all pest as well as their eggs!

No cedar anything ever. A log can be great for looks, especially if you want your cage to have a more natural look and feel to it. I have babies AND adults that LOVE to climb. So something like that could definitely be used by your boa. If you use overhead heat, then a branch works great for a basking spot.
If you use something you find in the wild, I would suggest baking and bleaching it, and let it air out for a few days before ever putting it in with your boa.

My 9 month old loves hanging on his vine. I got the idea to put it in there after he kept hanging off of the wingnuts holding the expandable end on.

Baking the branch would definately be the way to go. Didn't ever bing any problems into my house.
My boa is two years old and won't come off her branches unless absolutely necessary! I used jungle vine, very nice and "wild", natural look to it.
