This Hogg female has made her nest and is giving it a good look over before the big drop! Could very well be tonight. She is about 5 feet. She had 12 babies last year. I predict 15 this year. Any predictions?

Up at 5:00 AM and still no little ones. She is due June 21, based on the 105 days after the POS, but I have not had Hoggs go past 100 days before. They are always about a week short so it should be any minute. She is all coiled up in the heat conservation position right now. I could be any time... The next litter isn't due for another month so that is going to be a looooong wait.

Between me and a few friends of mine we have an average of 98 days from POS to birth on hogs and other Central Americans.

I say 18 since nobody has picked that number. And I claim 18 & 1/2 just in case there is a two-headed hogg in her ;D

Day 106 and nothing yet.

Day 107 and she is slapping that tail around a bit. I think she may be a little confussed as I am feeding everyone else and I'm sure she is smelling the rats not knowing if she should eat or have those puppies we have been waiting on sooooo long.

Maybe very very soon...

Funny that you mention this Jeff, my female Hogg dropped on day 100. Atleast I'll have this info for me next year. Thanks

Has she dropped?

Day 115 and still no babies. I had the pleasure of having Denny and Kathy Rimes visit me today and when I showed them this particular female Hogg she hissed at me! She has never done that before. I guess she will have them when she is good and ready. Day 115 and I am still somewhat patiently waiting... I don't have many people visit me and check out the collection. It was a real pleasure have them come by. They are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.

Better late than never. This is the longest past the Post Ovulation Shed date I have ever had any Boa give birth and nearly three weeks longer than I have ever had a Hogg Island Boa go before. Day 119. What a relief. The longer the better generally speaking. I have not had a disaster after day 110 so far. I don't think I have yet had a Hogg give me a slug. They are the easiest Boa on the planet to breed. I was just talking with "Cold Joe" the other day and told Joe that all I have to do is walk by a Hogg Female's cage with a male and she will be gravid. They are so easy.

Here is the happy Momma and her kids:

This Hogg is the next Boa likely to give birth. I walked by her cage with a male right after the female above. Boom! Gravid!
