Something Strange... Need opinions.

I paired up two of my Guyanans last month (Jan 5) for some late season breeding. My male courted the female up untill last week, and now he doesn't seem as interested, but I have seen no signs of ovulation or actual copulation. I looked over the female, and I noticed she has gained some weight from her mid section all the way to her vent, but I dont think it has anything to do with ovulation. There is only a slight swell and when I run my hand along her side I feel more loose fatty tissue than usual. She has not eaten anything since Jan 5 so this is not from food. Also, this is her first time breeding. I have never seen anything like this w/ any of my other breeding females. I was thinking that maybe any stored fat that she had was dropping to her mid and lower body, but why would the male stop courting her? Any ideas anyone? Opinions would greatly be appreciated.
