My boas will be three years old in April. The female is about six foot, and the male is 6" or 8" shorter. They both have good body mass and have lived together since I purchased them in August of 1999. I have been feeding them sporadically since September 2001 when they began to demonstrate mating behavior. That's right, they have been mating since September. I can't say I've ever seen successful mating, but the male is relentless. The female appears bored. How much longer will this go on? What do I need to do to bring things to the next stage?

Males will be relentless. The question is whether the female will "allow" him to breed her. Males have a long courtship that triggers the female into an ovulation cycle then a breeding response.

There is a chance the female will not respond. Also males can definately breed sooner than a female in regards to age. Appropriately sized females can breed during thier 3rd winter.

Seperation is really the only way to "stop" the male right. Eventually the male will give up and seperate himself.
