Hello Everyone,
I have an 8 foot normal Colombian Boa. She had her post ovulation shed in early Feb. I saw and photographed actual copulation. I'm going on the assumption now that she's gravid. She was a very gentle boa and loved being held. Now she's extremely aggressive and refuses food. She hisses and tries to bite every time I clean her cage, water her, look at her, or even pass by her cage. I have read that boas can get aggressive when gravid, but nobody says if they go back to normal later. If she's just grumpy from being gravid will she go back to her "nice" personality after she gives birth? She really was a sweetheart and now she's a demon. LOL.
Thanks,
Linda :)

Yes,

They do return to normal after several weeks. The mother of the pastels was the sweetest and most gentle boa that I had. But after the babies were born, she was the most agressive I have ever seen in ANY boa.

Remember Jeff's teaching from his videos and/or "The Boa Constrictor Manual"and put them into practice immediately. The sooner she is seperated from the babies the better.

My female gave birth on Jan 21st and she is back to normal.

Thanks Morti and Clay,
It's nice to know that my baby should be nice again. I miss spending time with her. She should give birth, if she's gravid, in May. I'll be patient and try not to take her demonic attitude personally. LOL.
Thanks again,
Linda :D
