o.k. i just attempted to feed my female boa and she just
became angry and hisssssed!!!!!!! she refuses to eat
and is just laying in the water tray. i noticed that she
will rub her body on a rock and apparently move the
swelling in her mid section to the lower part of her body
just above her tail. also her skin is very saggy and greyish, apparently she is about to shed but no babies
yet. is this normal activity? has anyone noticed ther boa act like this prior to delivery? i have pic but i am unable to download them onto this site any help would be appreciated.

Hi Hardrider,
I read your post and that's the same way my female was before her halfway shed. I took her to the vet this week and he feels that the halfway shed was her Post-Ovulation shed. Now I have a new due date for my girl. Maybe what you're seeing now is a Post-Ovulation shed. I know that some boas go off feed when they're breeding, because mine have as well. I have one that's eaten one small rat in 4 months and one that hasn't eaten at all. Maybe after this shed yours will start to eat again. I think in the Boa Manual it says to start feeding again after the POS. I'm not an expert, so I'm not sure on anything. It's just a thought I had when I noticed that your boa is doing the same thing mine did. I hope everything turns out alright and you get lots of baby boas.
Good Luck,
Linda :D

;D linda thanks for reply. i'm just going to continue to
attempt to feed her every week or so and see what
happens. now i dont no what to think. did i miss her
ovulation the first time and maybe now she is ovulating?
and if so do i place a male with her again? or do i wait
for another several weeks and see what happens.
i think i'm just goinng to wait and let time tell, but first
i'll take her to the vet. thanks again and good luck
with your baby. let me no when she delivers.
