I have gone through this forum and read most of the posts(love the new look).
But still 4 things unclear to me!

1. If a female starts popping out the babies? -Do you leave them there untill the last one and then remove them or do you leave them for a few hours or do you even take them out at all!?

2. How do you clean them, if you do?

3. What tipe of complications do occur before and after birth, if any?

4. How will I know if she can't get them out and I need a vet's help?

So I will appreciate it if all of you smart people can help me, this will be me first time I have to go through this!

Tx  Frans

Thanks for the info, Old Timer.
If you take the date that I obsurved the midbody swelling, round about what day would you say could be the day? I know it is difficult, but more or less would help me alot.

Once again thanks!

Hi Fran . After the swelling , if it's her ovulation , she should go into a shed . When she sheds , she should drop about 105 days later . Sometimes it's a little more or a little less . Good luck ! :D

One note,

After I am sure all the babies are out and the female is completey done, I will remove the female and place her in a fresh/clean enclosure.

Then I make sure there is a big dish of fresh water. The water dish will be used a lot by the babies. I will also remove as much of the "mess" as I can without disturbing the babies too much.

Also pay close attention to the female. Even if she was completely docile before, she will very likely be extremely agressive during this time and for that matter as long as she can smell the remains of the delivery.

I know that I am taking up alot of your time, but I'll rather be safe than sorry!!! Tx for your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff_Gray:I keep close record's on my two boa's and after going trough my records last night. I saw that I made a mistake on the swelling up date, it was in fact in the 02/07/2002 and that I have had 2 shed's since the swelling. One on the 24/07/2002 and the second on the 28/08/2002. Now the question is! Which one was the P.O.S?

Clay English: I will watch out for her, she been trying to take a bite out me for 3 months now.

And another Question or two: Let's say she is going down the final stretch to giving birth. Will she start lossing weight?
and what is all the wet spots in her tank?

Losing weight will occur while gravid, unless she continued to be fed while gravid. I have read that the more emancipated they appear the better boa to slug ratio.

However my last gravid female, did not appear to lose weight at all, and only had 1 slug.

Many people will offer smaller food items every couple of weeks during the gravid stage, up until a couple weeks before partuition. I do this based upon a recommendation from my boa breeding hero ;D

Believe me I tried but with no luck. She just refuse to eat and her last meal was on the 10/06/2002.
May be I am just to eager for her to have her babies, because I have heared alot of bad things and saw the picture from Jeff Ronne on the BOAPHILE where they had opened a dead female. I dont want it to happen to my lady.

Tx for your help
