Breeding None The Less

Niether me or my boa are ready for a clutch just yet, but to keep him plump i've been trying to breed rats. I have 1 female albino who... she looks plumper than all the other girls and squeels when I pick her up. I have 5 females and 5 males. I set the albino away by herself just in case, and I have 1 male who just reach sexual maturity who's with the 4 females and the other 4 males are away on their own. To give you some history I got 20 males for 20$ from a rep show. Gave away 5, traded in 10 for 5 adult females. I could give a pic later if anyone needs it. -sTEVE

I would love to see some pic. As well as how things go. You know how fast they produce, cost of keeping them things like that. :'(

I am using a smal system of small/medium rubber maid pull out drawers, I think that both my albino females are pregnant! lol. Ill go take a pic now and get back to you... -sTEVE

here are the 2 suspected pregnant females... i forgot to mention the above pic, the lil one is the male and the 3 big ones are active females, the only reason i put the 2 albinos away is because while everyone else is active these 2 stay sleeping, and they look plump. Trust me the lil cage is tall enough for them to stretch and long and wide enough for 2 large rats. ill isolate them by them selves if they are in fact pregnant. -sTEVE

Be shure to keep your rats in a different room than your snakes, or you might find yourself getting bit alot more.

oh yeah thats the first thing that came to mind. I used to have my cow mouse in my room because he's the pick of the litter, but he just annoyed me at night, EVERY night I was reminded why I love reptiles so much, lol. But my boa is in my bedroom and the rats are in a little 3' x 5' utility closet on the exact opposite side of the apartment.

I know 1 female is pregnant for sure, I could feel the babies inside... -sTEVE

well my suspiciousions came true last night, about 10 lil pups! I think about 2 or 3 more of my girls are pregnant too! -sTEVE
