Hey,
After having a litter 2 days ago, my girl has turned nasty. ::)
All her life, and even thoughout the pregnancy she has been the sweetest. She ate six rats this morning, just incase her viscousness was a sign of hunger, but it hasn't let up. She even got a piece of my wife... Is this some kind of post-mortem behavior? How long will it last?

Thanks

Steve

Some of my females have done this also. I think IMO, after loosing so much body wt,tired from birth.......ect, they get a lil' cranking......to say the least
I read, I think it was in the Boa Manual, to remove her from the babies. If she is relocated & can't smell the babies they become more back to their old self. Also leaving her alone and feeding her back into shape helps This is what I do,it seems to work for me. Hope this helps.

hehe........

post mortem= after death :(

post pardom= after birth :'(

I REALLY hope you meant post pardom, otherwise she's mean because she's a zombie or something. LOL

Give her some time and some privacy, and she'll come around. Having babies is an extremely stressful thing. It may take her a while to wind down, but she should eventually, I think.

Jesse

p.s. Congratulations on your new babies! :'(

Some females never seem to get over it and just stay crabby the rest of their lives but usually after the post birth shed they return to normal.
