View Full Version : Genetics question for experienced Breeders...

This is my second year producing dh ghost boas, but something odd happened this year.  I got one baby in the clutch that is an anery! That should not happen; if anything, he should be a het.

My question is: When this happens, is it most likely just a phenotype taken from one of the parents (the anery parent in this case) or is it usually genetic.  Because this little fella looks just like his father (pics will be up tomorrow to give you an idea). Please, all feedback is encouraged. Thanks.

sorry no answer for you whether it is genetic or not, but there was a local breeder who had a hypo litter from hypo to normal that had a single neo that was anery in appearance, and that always made me curious if that snake was genetic... Later Randy T.

Here's a pic of him. His saddles are completely black and dark brown, its really weird.
