I've got a pair of boas together, they have copulated Daily for several months, The male is a trooper!!, what a ruff job he's got. LOL... I have never got this female to have babys, she is darn near 10'. I'm hoping she's going to have a mother load of babys, but I'm starting to wonder?

well what ya need to do is, get her drunk, take her to a club, introduce her to a snake she has never met before and when things turn romantic she should wake up with a hang over and pregnant, works every time. :'(.lol

seriously though good luck with her.

Tell us a little more about her. Did you raise her up from a baby or buy her as an adult? Has she ever had a litter in the past? Has she ever had a medical problem of ANY kind? Is she a Col. or some other subspecies? How many months has the male been courting/breeding her?

She is a Columbian I got her as a 7' adult she is 5 years old, never been sick a day. The pair have been together for 4 months and have been copulating for 3.75 of the 4 daily or more.

You must be talking about courting for 4 months. This is when the male attempts to induce the female into letting him actually breed her. He is riding her back almost constantly and rubbing his tail against hers?

During actual copulation you will most likely see pink between their tails and this is when the male inserts one of his hemipenes into her cloaca.  This is copulation and it only lasts a few weeks at the most. I've never heard of a male going too much longer than that, let alone 4 months! If you ask me, you're on the right track, but copulation probably hasn't taken place yet.

Good luck  :'(

No I wasn't talking about courting I don't write down copulation in the book untill I see pink. She still hasn't ovulated, and I recently had to seperate them to feed them, but the male is still interested. So I geuss I'll let him do his buisness a while longer and see what happens.

Oh, ok. Sorry for the confusion, I've seen you post here for awhile so I should have known you knew the difference. It just seemed odd that the male has copulated for that long; I've never seen or heard of that happening. But good luck with it and remember, patience is a virtue! Sorry for the cliche, I had to. :'(

Yeah it's blown me away... I can't figure this female out...? I'm sure it will be worth the wait when it happens. No one ever said breeding boas was easy.
