My boa is due in the next week or two. I have talked to some local pet shops and they have expressed interest in purchasing the babies. My question is what might be a fair wholsale price to a retailer? I was thinking around $50 considering the average retail price around these parts is about $ 125 and that would give the retailer a profit margin of around 60%. But I do not really know what to ask. Please help.

If I were you I would sell them yourself. You can find them a home to your liking and make allot more money.

I talked to a local pet store about buying a few rats off of me and he said on ANY animal they pay no more then 25% of retail because of the simple fact animals have to be fed and maintained. -sTEVE

Adam,

I will be really surprised if a pet store gives you $50 for your babies. Im not trying to bring you down, but most of the stores around here only pay 35-45 for a colombian, and still charge around $125

I pay between $25-35 for columbian babys wholesale. You may as well put them up for sale on kingsnake, make the price some where in between wholesale and retail and you won't have them long!

Last year I called my local reptile specialty store to ask if they wanted to buy my Col. babies. They offered me $12.50ea. I hung up without saying bye. I later sold every one through the newspaper classifieds for $75ea :) It took me a very long time to sale all of them but the extra effort was worth it.

I agree with everyone here. Put in the extra effort to sell them yourself. Find them a good home, make more money, and have the piece of mind that they aren't being stuffed into one small, dirty cage somewhere. It would be well worth your time.

Thanks for the input. I think I will sell them on my own
