I was drinking my coffe this morning and showing my uncle my gravid boa. She was not due until the 17th of this month so I was not realy expecting them today. However I noticed her tail flickering in the air and out came a slug then another and another. She had 15 slugs :-X and two that are still in their pouch. I have been misting them evry hour , but how long until they break out? Im kind of dissapointed but glad she at least had two. It is my first boa litter. I will post some pics as soon as I find out how to reduce my picture to an allowable size.

hey sorry to hear about the slugs, but i have one question could it be that maybe the misting caues them to give birth
to early. i havent had that problem yet, i just keep a humidifier
on and it seems to work.

well i dont mist my boas i dont have a humidity problem, so misting wasnt the problem and the babies that were alive were full term, it was just slug city!!!

Were your babies born outside the membrane pouch? I have the two who are still hangin out in there. Do they just stay in there until they feel like coming out ? And how long will they stay in there usualy?
Thanx Adam

you know when i found my boas they were out of their sacks, i have heard to leave the snakes alone and let them emerge themselves, this is right is it not JEFF? thanx reid

congrats on the two babys, my last litter consisted of all slugs from an albino bred by a striped hypo, so don't feel to bad.

are the babies in the sacks moving? They do need to breath.
