My female just had babies on the second of may and what was once a docile snake has turned into a 7ft :-X snake. I've fed her a few times since her delivery but she is still real aggresive...

Any ideas? Thanks in advance. AdamC

HOW SOON AFTER THE BIRTH DID YOU REMOVE THE MOM FROM THE BABIES? ALSO DID YOU CLEAN THE BIRTHING CAGE OUT REALLY WELL? SOME TIMES THE SENT FROM THE BIRTH WILL REMAIN IN THE CAGE CAUSEING THE MOM TO BECOME CRANKY.

I removed the babies as soon as I found them in the morning. Then later that same day I cleaned out the cage.

I've been feeding her large rats every four days and she is more than happy to take every one so I'm not sure if she's just really hungry or what. Thanks AdamC

This is normal. You need to remove all the baby boa smell. As long as she can smell the area where she had the babies or the babies themselves she will act this way. If the babies are housed in the same room as her she can smell them. Clean her cage extra extra well and remove the babies to a different room. Or, place her in a different cage in a differant room until she calms down. It can sometimes take a few days, weeks or sometimes never. I have had a few that remained snappy after giving birth.
