I know many of you have probably read some stupid posts from me already, but here's another one. As you can see I don't know anything. When I bought my boa I didn't know there was a difference in boas (as in BCI versus BCC). I now know differently, but was wondering if you could breed a BCI and a BCC. That may be stupid but like I said I know nothing. Also is there an easy way to tell the two apart. I'm not positive of what I have. I know I want to breed her in a few years and wondered if it mattered what she was bred with.
Thanks!

You can definitely breed them together. If you look closely at ads on the net, you can see people selling mixed animals like that. Say like a "50% Columbian 50% Suriname" boa. However, I don't think I like the idea of mixing these two different species together, but people do it. The point is it can be done. Hope that helps.

Although it is possible, it's not something you would want to do.
There are many many different bci and bcc, enough where you deffinately don't need to crossbreed! Some people get really upset about that kind of thing.
It is better to breed locality specific snakes to each other. For instance,a Columbian bci to a Columbian bci ... A Surinam bcc to a Surinam bcc... A Nicaraguan bci to a Nicaraguan bci and so on....
There are also many, many ways to tell them apart. Take a look at some of the posts around here, such as the one asking if we think her snake is a Columbian bci, or if we think his snake is a Peruvian bcc...
There's lots of people who are new and/or unsure, and there's lots of people who have helped by throwing in their $.02 .
Check it out, the posts are all over..
Hope that helped!
